Shelborn completes double play for regional offices
Shelborn has completed the acquisition of two substantial regional offices, Central Square in Newcastle and the Aura Building in Leamington Spa, on behalf of international clients from Tritax.
The Aura Building comprises 74,815 square feet of offices fully leased to Meta and Tata. Central Square comprises 73,624 square feet and is occupied by tenants including Avison Young, Arup and Trimble.
The vendors and price have not been disclosed. Tritax took ownership of the Aura building as part of its takeover of UK Commercial Property REIT last year.
Mark Rabinowitz, director at Shelborn, said in a statement: “We recognise considerable asset management opportunities at Central Square, Newcastle. Through our retrofit first initiative to upgrade the mechanical and electrical systems and introduce best-in-class amenities, we aim to attract future occupiers seeking high-quality space with strong ESG credentials."
Max Clynes, partner at Kimmre, added: “These acquisitions underline the ongoing appetite from international investors for prime regional opportunities in the UK market.”
Kimmre acted on behalf of the purchaser, while DTRE and ACRE represented the vendor.
Savills and Avison Young have been retained to let Central Square.
